Pilates is a conditioning method created by Joseph Pilates. Our belief is that his original system needs no improvement, no modernizing, and no change. The genius of Joseph Pilates' method becomes evident in the body when regularly practiced. A concise definition of Pilates is stretch, strength, and control. This is achieved by training the mind and body to work together effectively. Pilates is a whole body workout that provides strength and flexibility with a focus on the powerhouse or core. Other benefits include improvement in: mental concentration, circulation, lung capacity, posture, balance, and coordination.
Often thought of as an exercise program for the wealthy, dancers, and athletes, genuine Pilates can be done by anyone at any fitness level. This system begins at a person's specific fitness level/ body type and increases over time to become progressively more challenging and more aerobic.
